How to Play Blackjack

Overview

Blackjack is a table game for 1 to 6 players, each playing their own hand against the dealer — never against each other. The dealer is controlled entirely by the house (the server), so you can sit down and play solo or fill every seat with friends. A table is either Free Play (no minimum bet, no currency — just win, lose, or push) or Table Credits, where the host sets a minimum bet and everyone bets their own table credits each round.

Hand Values

• Number cards (2–10) are worth their face value.
• Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10.
• Aces are worth 11, or 1 if 11 would push your hand over 21.
• A natural blackjack is an Ace + a 10-value card as your very first two cards — it beats any other 21 made by hitting.
• Going over 21 at any point is a bust — an automatic loss, regardless of what the dealer ends up with.

How to Play

1. Every seat and the dealer are each dealt two cards — one of the dealer's cards stays face down until the round is settled.
2. Seats act in order. On your turn you can Hit (take another card), Stand (keep your current total), or Double Down (take exactly one more card, then automatically stand — only available as your very first decision).
3. If your first two cards are the same rank, you can also Split them into two separate hands, each getting a new second card — you then play each hand out in turn (hit, stand, or double on each) before moving to the next seat. A 21 made on a split hand is a plain 21, not a natural blackjack.
4. Once every seat has stood, busted, or been dealt a blackjack, the dealer flips their hidden card and plays by fixed house rules: hit below 17, stand on 17 or higher (including a soft 17).
5. Each seat is then compared against the dealer's final hand: a higher total wins, a lower total loses, equal totals push (a tie, nobody wins), and a bust always loses. A natural blackjack beats a dealer total of 21 made by hitting.
6. The table automatically deals a fresh round a few seconds later — no need to start each hand manually. Any seated player can leave the table without ending it for everyone else; the host ends the table for good with Close Table.
