How to Play Tic-Tac-Toe

The classic 3x3 grid game

Overview

Tic-Tac-Toe is a quick head-to-head game for 2 players on a 3x3 grid. Take turns placing your mark — the first to line up three in a row, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, wins.

How to Play
  1. The first player to join the lobby plays X, the second plays O — but who actually takes the first turn is chosen at random when the game starts, not always the host.
  2. Players alternate turns clicking an empty cell to place their mark.
  3. The first player to connect three of their own marks in a row (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) wins immediately.
  4. If all 9 cells fill with no winner, the match ends in a draw.

Optional: Play to Win Mode

Turn this on when creating the lobby and the game can never end in a draw. Each player is capped at 3 marks on the board — placing a 4th removes your own oldest mark, rolling forward instead of filling up the grid. Watch out: rolling off a mark can undo a line you were counting on.
